Five Years of Endodontic Care in the St. Louis Community
Since Archway Endodontics opened in September 2021. Dr. Brian R. Judd, DDS, MS has been treating patients with personalized care. Dr. Judd purchased the practice in August of 2023, providing continuity of care for current patients and welcoming new patients. Throughout the practice’s five-year history, we have collaborated with referring dentists to provide specialized treatment.
As an endodontic practice we focus on preserving natural teeth whenever possible, which aligns with our current patient-centered approach. Endodontic treatment seeks to restore the health of teeth that have infected or damaged pulp, and sometimes to prevent such problems in high-risk teeth. We are here to provide timely treatment for the best possible outcome.
Dr. Brian Judd’s Path to Becoming an Endodontist
Dr. Judd earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Colorado Denver. He then spent five years practicing as a general dentist in the Wichita, Kansas area. Throughout his time in general dentistry, he found a passion for relieving dental pain in patients, which led him to specialize in endodontics.
He spent his endodontic residency at Saint Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education, where he served as chief resident and earned a Master’s degree in Dentistry. His master’s thesis research involved one of the first clinical trials of the GentleWave System.
Dr. Judd is proud to have been invited to deliver a keynote address to the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, an organization spanning five districts and more than 1,000 general dentists. His presentation addresses the link between root canal therapy and quality restorative dentistry, and the partnership between general dentists and endodontists that produces the strongest outcomes for patients.
Investing in the Future of Patient Care
Our practice has grown in many ways over the past year, including the addition of an office manager, dental assistant, and front desk coordinator. Office renovations have included upgrades to the practice’s three surgical suites, including equipment and technology updates to enhance patient care and comfort.
Our commitment to providing a comfortable, professional, and patient-focused experience includes various forms of advanced technology, like cone beam CT imaging, operating microscopes, digital radiography, ultrasonic instrumentation, and specialty software.
Comprehensive Specialty Endodontic Services
Archway Endodontics provides specialized treatment for patients experiencing tooth pain, infection, previous root canal complications, cracked teeth, and other endodontic concerns.
Our core services include:
- Root canal treatment. In a tooth with damaged or infected pulp, the pulp is removed and replaced with filler that fortifies the tooth and is resistant to infection.
- Apicoectomy. A surgical procedure involving the removal of the tip of the tooth root, disinfecting of the root canal and surrounding tissues, and a filling placed over the root.
- 3-D imaging. Our CBCT scanner provides 3-D images that are used in diagnostics and treatment planning for greater precision.
- Cracked tooth assessment and treatment. We evaluate cracked teeth and provide the appropriate treatment to preserve the tooth.
- Internal bleaching. A tooth that is discolored due to damaged pulp can be bleached from the inside to restore its appearance.
Celebrating the Patients and Dentists Who Made Five Years Possible
“Reaching five years is a milestone I share with our patients and with the general dentists who trust us with their referrals,” says Dr. Brian R. Judd, DDS, MS, owner and endodontist at Archway Endodontics. “Root canal therapy has a reputation that does not match what modern endodontics can actually do. Getting patients out of pain and helping them keep their natural teeth is the most satisfying work I have done in dentistry, and I am grateful that St. Louis has given me five years of it.”
The five-year anniversary is both a celebration of our practice’s history and a foundation for continued specialty care in the St. Louis community. We look forward to providing endodontic treatment for patients and families and collaborating with dentists and other specialists in the area.
