Quality Care Can Save Money in the Long Run
When it comes to root canal treatment, choosing care based on price alone can sometimes become more expensive in the long run.
We regularly see patients who need retreatment of a previously completed root canal that is failing. Retreatment is generally more complex and costly than initial root canal therapy. In some cases, a tooth may no longer be treatable and may require extraction and replacement with a dental implant or another restorative option.
Our goal is to provide precise, specialized treatment from the beginning, helping patients preserve their natural teeth whenever possible.
Using Your Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits
Most dental insurance plans provide benefits for treatment received from an out-of-network endodontist. It is important to understand how your annual dental insurance maximum works.
Most dental insurance plans place a limit on the amount they will pay toward your dental care each year. For example, suppose your plan has a $1,500 annual maximum.
If you need a root canal followed by a buildup and crown, your total treatment may cost approximately $3,500:
Your insurance company will still generally pay no more than your plan's $1,500 annual maximum, regardless of whether your endodontic treatment is provided in-network or out-of-network.
Why This Matters
If your root canal is performed by an in-network provider, your insurance may apply a large portion—or potentially all—of your available annual benefit to the root canal. That can leave little or no insurance benefit available when you return to your dentist for the buildup and crown.
With an out-of-network endodontist, the amount your insurance applies toward the root canal may be different. In some circumstances, this can leave a portion of your annual benefit available to help pay for the restorative treatment that follows.
The important point is that your insurance plan has not increased its annual benefit. The available benefit is simply being allocated differently between the various procedures that you need.
An Example
Imagine that your dental plan provides $1,500 in benefits per year.
If $1,500 of that benefit is used toward your root canal, you may have $0 remaining for the buildup and crown.
If your insurance applies $1,000 toward your root canal, you would have $500 of your annual benefit remaining for your dentist to apply toward the buildup and crown.
In either situation, your insurance has provided the same maximum annual benefit of $1,500.

Insurance Verification Before Your Appointment
When your appointment is scheduled, we collect your dental insurance information and verify your benefits before you are seen, whenever possible.
This allows us to estimate what your insurance company may pay and what your anticipated responsibility will be. The patient's estimated portion is generally due at the time of service.
Delta Dental patients: Delta Dental has informed our office that benefits for our services are paid directly to the patient. Therefore, we collect the full treatment fee at the time of service, and Delta Dental reimburses the patient directly according to the terms of their plan.
Insurance benefits and reimbursement amounts are estimates and are ultimately determined by your insurance carrier.
We File Your Insurance Claim for You
After treatment, our team submits the necessary procedure codes, clinical documentation, images, and other required information to your insurance company on your behalf.
Our goal is to make the reimbursement process as easy as possible while helping you receive the benefits available under your plan.
CareCredit Financing
We offer CareCredit for patients who prefer to finance their treatment rather than pay the entire amount upfront.
CareCredit allows qualified patients to receive the treatment they need now and make payments over time. Promotional financing options may include:

Fair and Transparent Pricing
Our comprehensive endodontic consultation is $350 and includes a 3D CBCT scan at no additional charge.
This advanced imaging allows us to thoroughly evaluate the tooth and surrounding structures before recommending treatment. Our objective is not simply to perform a root canal. It is to determine whether root canal treatment is actually the best option for you.
Our total fee for the examination, 2D imaging, 3D imaging, and a root canal is $1,995.
As an out-of-network practice, we have structured our fees to remain competitive while providing specialized endodontic care and advanced diagnostic technology.
Sometimes the Most Affordable Treatment Is No Treatment
For complex diagnostic situations, we often recommend beginning with a consultation before scheduling treatment.
Sometimes our evaluation determines that a patient does not need a root canal. A tooth may simply need time to heal, or it may need a different type of treatment.
A $350 consultation can therefore help patients avoid the cost, time, and inconvenience of treatment that may not be necessary.
Our philosophy is simple: recommend the treatment that is appropriate for the patient, even when that means recommending no endodontic treatment at all.
